For the last seventeen years, the Rehab charity has marked Shrove Tuesday with a pancake race at Victoria Tower Gardens adjacent to the Houses of Parliament. The event started as a relay race between members of the Lords and Commons all tossing a pancake as they ran. In recent years they have been joined by political correspondents from the BBC, ITN, Channel 4, Sky and most of the press sector.
In 2014 over twenty Peers, Members of Parliament and press took part in the race and media interest was exceptional, including amongst both tabloid and broadsheet nationals together with a number of regional and local papers in participants’ constituencies. There was also radio and TV coverage as well as viral interest which has become increasingly prominent with many of the competitors themselves taking to the twitter-sphere.
The 2015 Race took place on Shrove Tuesday, 17th February 2015 and Harris Fowler was the sole sponsor to help raise awareness for Rehab. The event was a great success and confirms Harris Fowler’s commitment to ensuring client’s get the best care and rehabilitation after a traumatic injury. Photographs from the day
