The Wight Brainy Bunch
The Wight Brainy Bunch is a small charity based on the Isle of Wight providing a support network and financial assistance to local families affected by Brain Tumours. The charity was set up by Mark Grimes and his wife Kathryn, from the Isle of Wight, following Mark’s diagnosis of a brain tumour in February 2015. It became apparent to Mark and Kathryn through their own experience, that there was a distinct lack of support on the Isle of Wight for this devastating disease. The priority for the charity is to focus on supporting other Island families embarking on this difficult journey.
Lisa Hendy from our Isle of Wight office, has been involved with the charity for a number of years, always supporting with a ‘hands on’ approach, you can usually find her volunteering at various events throughout the year, such as the Warrior Festival, annual Black Tie Ball and ever popular Christmas Market, held at Ryde Fire Station.
Lisa was delighted when she was asked to become a Trustee for the Wight Brainy Bunch, and Harris Fowler will continue to support the charity as main sponsors for all of their events.

Smile 4 Wessex
In 2024, Harris Fowler Solicitors were proud sponsors of the Fundraiser of the Year Award at the Annual Gala Dinner, which raised over £8,500 for the charity.
Deborah Wagstaff and Lisa Hendy from the Isle of Wight office handed out awards to two winners, Alan Finden and Nick Bowler, after they successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
Both Alan and Nick are dedicated supporters of Smile4Wessex, which was established in memory of Richard Bowler, Nick’s 15 year old son, who collapsed whilst training with his local youth football club in Sarisbury Green in 2002. Richard was found to have suffered a subarachnoid brain haemorrhage from which, he sadly never regained consciousness.
The Wessex Neurological Centre is one of the largest and most highly respected neurological centres in the UK, providing acute and specialist care to patients from across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. Smile4Wessex aims to make it even better by funding cutting-edge equipment and facilities that enhance the range and quality of treatment available, and by sponsoring pioneering research into new treatments for a variety of neurological conditions.
