Harris Fowler is a highly respected Personal Injury firm. We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a lawyer or compliance professional to join our team. We are looking for a professional with experience in regulatory compliance (including knowledge of the SRA handbook and CPR). The successful candidate will work closely with our Managing Director to support the firm in maintaining our legal and regulatory requirements as well as dealing with client complaints and any breaches of the regulations.
Job Description:
- Supporting the firm to maintain their legal and regulatory requirements, such as SRA, AML, Anti-bribery, Data Protection and GDPR
- Working closely with the Managing Director to investigate and report all breaches / and near breaches of all regulations and statutes

- Performing compliance risk assessments to understand the level, significance and scope of risk within the firm. Dealing with client complaints, including investigation, pursuing remedial actions and reporting procedures in line with the firm’s policies
- Understanding our Harris Fowler policies and procedures, and supporting appropriate application across the business; continuously identifying areas for improvement and promoting technical knowledge and competencies
- Providing training to educate company staff on important compliance procedures and policies
- Assisting with development and delivery of compliance and professional standards training
Person Specification
Essential:
- Legal qualification / experience preferable
- Experience of handling complex complaints
- Detailed knowledge of SRA Handbook and Civil Procedures Rules (CPR)
- Ability to effectively manage own workload and adhere to variety of compliance deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail together with a methodical and organised approach
- The proven ability to quickly learn the context of the business and the aims and objectives
- In-depth knowledge of the legal industry’s standards and regulations
- Experience of dealing with GDPR breaches and updating internal risk assessments
- Flexible with effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships
Desirable:
- Personal Injury Experience
