Qualified as Solicitor 1994
Louise qualified as a Solicitor with a firm in London before moving to Manchester where she specialised in litigation and in particular personal injury and employment work. She returned home to Somerset and since 1999 she has worked for Harris Fowler specialising in personal injury work.
Louise works on a variety of different types of cases including for clients who have sustained serious head and spinal injuries. She has particular expertise in working for military clients who have sustained injury whilst serving. In particular Louise has acted for a number of clients who have sustained cold weather injuries whilst serving in the Army and has developed considerable expertise in this area.
Recent cases involving this type of work include cases for two clients who were discharged from the Army as a consequence of their cold weather injuries. Both cases were successfully settled before Trial with one former Soldier receiving compensation in excess of £100,000 and the second receiving compensation in excess of £200,000. In addition Louise has recently acted for a client to successfully recover compensation for psychiatric injuries which the client sustained as a consequence of the period of time working as a care assistant at a school for children with behavioral difficulties.
Louise feels the most rewarding aspect of the job is working with clients who have been injured and using her legal expertise to enable them to receive help and treatment and to recover compensation to enable them to get on with their lives.
