Amie Pinnell, Solicitor & Associate Director
Amie has practiced in personal injury law since the start of her legal career in 2002. She joined Harris Fowler in 2005 as an assistant solicitor to the CEO.
Amie quickly moved on to develop her own case load and gained experience of dealing with most aspects of personal injury work including accidents at work, road traffic accidents, slipping and tripping claims and product liability claims.
In 2009 Amie was made an Associate and progressed into a supervisory role overseeing the more junior case handlers of the company. She has taken on various roles within Harris Fowler and was promoted to Associate Director in 2015.
Amie now represents clients who have had the misfortune of suffering from serious, life changing injuries. She specialises in all aspects of Personal Injury claims including accidents at work, high value road traffic accidents, beauty treatments claims and serious injury claims. She also manages a team of case handlers to provide them with training, support and guidance.
In 2016, Amie was selected as winner of the Lawyer Monthly – 2016 Lawyer of the Year – UK for the Personal Injury category, recognising her proven track record in delivering results for her clients.
What inspired you to get into law?
Amie’s dad always had great aspirations for her from a young age. He told her to be a doctor or a lawyer when she grew up. She didn’t like the idea of lots of blood and so when her ambition of becoming a ballerina didn’t look like it was going to work out she pursued a career in the law.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Amie finds the most rewarding part of her job is being the person who can be on the end of the phone or seeing a client in person to try and take the pressure and stress away from the difficulties which arise when you’ve had an accident and being able to try and give you that light at the end of the tunnel. Also, having the knowledge that she’s helping people recover from injuries by providing support, treatment, advice and ultimately compensation for the losses they have suffered.
What do you do for fun?
In her spare time Amie enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also likes to travel when and if the opportunity arises. She often seems to get roped into some kind of sporting challenge and over the last few years has completed various obstacle runs including Tough Mudder and most recently a Triathlon.
